For that last few months I have slowly been doing shattered heart each week for the quick XP boost. Once I get my weekly quota of rocks I then work on combat and slayer. A couple of weeks ago I hit the 98 Constitution and at this point I am now about 50+k away from the 99.
Too many people find it boring and use 'bots' (that is for losers and may be the subject of a future blog), but, I find that if I spread out my work among many tasks I don't get as bored. One of the other alternate activities was penguin-hide-and-seek. Once a week I get my 16 points and can apply it to whatever skill I want. It takes about 30 minutes using one of the clan chats that is for the event. The newest one I have tried out is troll invasion. You can only do this once a month, but, if you make it to the end you get a massive XP reward (last one I did I got over 50k for summoning).
I am planning a small '99' party with a few friends and acquaintances that play RS and pass out a few items to celebrate my milestone.

Blood runs deep - Quest cape
I still have not finished that quest yet. I am working on getting level 90 in ranging so I can be more effective against Nomad using ranging and ruby bolts. I also have been working on getting tortoise shells to make war tortoises. From what I have been reading it appears that ranging using tortoises is the more effective way to finish off the quest. I also have been making a lot of Saradomin brews as I will be using a lot of these.
It is a long process and I have over 1M XP to go until level 90. I may get impatient and try him soon as I really miss showing off the quest cape.
If anyone has suggestions on a more effective strategy you can leave comments here and I will review and publish them later.

TomT Levels

It has been a bit since I last updated the blog. I have been working on a number of my levels and trying to help out Zelda online with her quests. One of my current goals is to get all of my levels up to 80 for all skills and that is taking a lot of effort. The biggest one is runecrafting as the best XP I get is 10 per essence when I do death runes. I have been playing the Great Orb Project for the XP and teletabs to the Law alter which helps along with playing penguin hide & seek each week and putting the XP to runecrafting.
You can see all of my levels to the right as of June 20th. It is slow, but, they are the result of me doing the work and not Bots. I see that Jagex has updated their bot detection and have been removing high level accounts that use bots. I think that is great as it is not fair to all of us who spend our time and energy to get our levels up in a legit way.
Zelda and I have also been playing the evil tree event at least once a day as it gives us great farming, woodcutting and firemaking XP. The rewards when the tree is a maple or higher is nice, but, we are mosting playing it to pump up our XP.
Zelda wants to get to 99 FM as the first skill, but, I know that is going to be a long and hard process as she gets bored after about 15-20 loads of logs burned. I make a game of it in that she needs to work on FM while we wait for the evil tree event. Doing that today she got almost 100k of XP without being too bored.

First cape
After three years of playing I finally got my first cape. I finished off the quest While Guthix Sleeps. To get there I had to finish off Mourning's End Part 2.
For Mourning 2 I was using the two walkthroughs. Sals and the Wiki have great walkthroughs that make the quest somewhat easier and allows you to know what you need to have to work on the quests. For Mourning 2 they are not kidding that prayer potions and prayer enhanced items are helpful, in my opinion the only way you can easily finish without going through hundreds prayer potions and teleporting to Ardougne dozens of times to restock is to use the items. Even with the armour it took me about 10 restocking of potions and food to finish that quest.
On the master quest it was a lot of fun and reading all of the various 'conversations' has hints to what may be in store for future quests. Once the quest was finished I headed back to Falador and the party room where I held a small party (500k) to celebrate the fact that I finally got my quest cape.
Over Christmas Zelda and myself took a small break to enjoy the holiday and we would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year. The picture was drawn by Zelda.
